Snopes.com is a staple of the Internet, turned to time-and-again by those looking to verify suspect information shared virally online. But until recently, the notable urban legends reference site had no social media presence to speak of. That is until Snopes contracted me to assist them in developing a digital strategy and social media presence. In addition to designing and launching Snope’s Facebook page and revamping its outdated and long-unused Twitter profile, I have been providing coaching to the site’s owner, David Mikkelson, who has been running the site independently with his wife Barbara since 1994, helping him to develop his brand’s voice over social media. I am also working with David to develop a multichannel solution to make handling the massive influx of verification requests Snopes receives daily a more manageable task.

This weekend I attended Hack Upstate, a hackathon for Central New York-area developers who wanted to pitch projects and get others involved in building them out for a day. My pitch didn’t make the cut, so I joined a team that, together in one day, designed and built FreshQuest, an app which makes it easier to find fresh, locally grown produce at your local farmers market. I did the branding and complete UI design for the app, which won 2nd Place in the competition.

Fair Elections for New York is a coalition of public advocacy organizations and labor unions that want to reform campaign finance law in New York State and get big money out of politics. If you live in New York, you may have seen their television commercials, which have been airing throughout the day, including during The Daily Show. I designed their site, which I built with my colleagues at Breakthrough Design Group.

I’m very pleased to present my first-ever music video — “Earth, Wind & Cash [Remix]” by Israeli hip-hop legend Sagol 59. The video was shot last year over the course of one day around my old Brooklyn stomping grounds, and seeks to evoke the gritty, black and white rap videos of the 90s. Props to the fine folks at Cre8iva in Tel Aviv for their fantastic editing work.
